A wider safer pavement – now complete
Work started last year has now been completed. The pavement from Lovers Leap right through to the Eyam junction has been cleaned, providing a wider safer walk.
We again thank the Heritage Lottery Fund for the money and Andy Payne of J & A Road Sweeping, Digger and Dumper Hire from Eyam, who provided the machinery. Andy provided a digger to remove the build-up of soil covering part of the pavement which was significantly narrowing it. This along with the vegetation was reducing the pavement to a single width walkway in places.
A huge thank you to village volunteer who worked tirelessly with the digger, sweeping and cleaning up behind it. The verge will be raked and seeded in the spring, following which it will be strimmed and litter picked to maintain an attractive and clean entrance to the village
